Stitches & Craft Show

images from The Stitches and Craft show website here

Help! Major, major indecisions looming...

I am off to the Brisbane stitches and Craft Show for the first time today with my mum and sister (check out her blog Wifestyle Files). I cant wait to see the plethora of goodies and to hopefully sit in on a tutorial or 2. All this PLUS, no kiddies! absolute BLISS!

My credit card is burning a hole in my wallet and I am ready to stimulate the economy.
I just know that there is going to be too much to choose from so I need to focus focus focus...fat chance of that happening!

I will post pics of my day and purchases tomorrow.

Hope you have a great day too!

Still Loving Scissor Variations...

Pretty Apothecary tutorial

I have been stalking Scissor Variations again and thought I would post some pics of Janice's fabulous items in use and links to her fabulous tutorials.
I will definitely be making the paper flowers (stunning and so simple), the buttons (when I purchase a button/badge making machine), pretty recycling (I now have a use for my collection of tin cans I have been hoarding) and pretty apothecary (I need to source some glass jars- I am thinking for in the bathroom...)

Heather Bailey - Happy Stacker fabric toy

Heather Bailey Happy Stacker pattern- love it!!!

Heather Bailey Fresh Cut fabric for the Happy Stacker

I just adore this pretty Amy Butler charm fabric. I had ran out so grabbed some more for I don't know what...

you've gotta love a yoyo!

This morning I was going through my bedside drawers and found a little brown bag - low and behold in it was the items I bought at the Gold Coast Craffest, back in March.

I cant believe I totally forgot I bought these lovely items.

Actually, yes I can believe it as I have stuff I have acquired over the years stashed all over my house!
Like I have said before I love to buy things and hoard them for "one day".
Well this weekend I think I will make the too cute Heather Bailey Happy Stacker, before my beautiful little A gets too old for it!
These are the fabrics I am going to use for the stacker.

The beige corduroy is for the centre pole and the other colours are for the rings.
What do you think?
I don't think I am going to add any ribbons as this would require too many decisions...
I will post some pics when I finish!
Have a great weekend!

Gifts for S from {Bits & Bubs}

I made this card from a picture out of a vintage nursery rhyme book I found at lifeline for 50c and some offcuts of scrap booking paper. Love the card on its own but now I wish I used a different colour backing as the red doesn't really go with the colour scheme of the gifts...

Gifts for bubby S from my {Bits & Bubs} collection.
Cloth shoes, yoyo broach, sun bonnet and burp cloths.

Cloth shoes made from quilting fabric and vintage chenille with matching yoyo broach.

The 2 1/2 year old bonnet, finally going to a new home!

I thought I would post some pics of some little gifts for my new bubby niece, S.
I have so much {Bits & Bubs} stuff that I have made and accumulated over the last year or 2 so it comes in handy whenever a new baby or toddlers birthday comes up. I always leave buying a gift until the last minute so I just end up grabbing something out of my box of goodies.
Besides the card, these are all items I have made to sell at my phantom market stall or on (by God, even if I am 95 I will get this damn market stall done one day!).
My problem is that I cannot decide on just a couple of items to focus on so I make 1 or 2 of 100 different things and end up in an absolute tiz as I cant decide what exactly to do, fabric, trim and accessories to use etc.
I actually made a few of these bonnets when my first daughter was 6 months old- and she is now nearly 3! And yes it has been sitting in the box of goodies since then.
How sad...

Anyhoo, I digress, I hope little S and her mummy loves her gifts!

note to self: learn how to take nice photos, these are appalling pics!
