Weekend Wishes

lovely random photo via weheartit

Wow, another week gone. I can't believe that next week is August!!! Scary thought that more than half the year is now gone...eek.

Its been a pretty productive week here. I have finished my teepee tent that I started the beginning of the week. It turned out to be a bit painful to make but it turned out quite cute with a pretty, girley shabby chic feel to it. Hopefully I will get some photos of it posted next week.

Enjoy whatever you are doing this weekend.
I am catching up with some good friends for drinks, dinner and dancing this weekend which shall be an absolute hoot!

So true...

Bed & Breakfast delight

This divine little B & B is from a little village all the way over in the Netherlands.
I just love all the candy colours, chandeliers and eclectic mix of furniture.
How lovely would it be to leave all your cares behind and enjoy a peaceful getaway in such a pretty little place?

Its Tuesday and I can't Wait (on a Wednesday)

Giselle, my body inspiration for this summer...delusional much?
images from Australian Harper's Bazaar 2003

...for the warmer weather to roll on so I can shed my layer of winter blubber. And yes, it is entirely winters fault and nothing to do with my self control- its not my fault I have to eat half a packet of chocolate biscuits every night with my cup of tea to keep me cosy inside when it is so cold in our house...

To combat the effects of winter I am going to attempt to do the 12 week challenge come spring (god help me). It involves a lot of exercise, running, sand dunes, swimming and I don't even want to think of everything else. There is a strong possibility I could die. Considering I cant even swim across a pool and I have NEVER ran in my entire life it shall be interesting.

My sister did it last year and insists by the end of the program I will be running with the best of them (0r at the very least running with the worst of them).
I guess I must soldier on if I want to ever wear a bikini again, and after all my efforts if I don't have legs like Giselle I will be very dirty. What are my chances?

Tee-pee cute

all images via tinypeople blog

I recently re-discovered these absolutely divine images that I have had saved in my "to do" file for so long now and they have inspired me to have a go at making a cute and cozy tee-pee. A lovely little space for precious little ones to hideaway and play and make believe.

I just love how this tee-pee is haphazardly sewn together with different patches and strips of fabric, raw edges and strands of threads.

Ooh, what to do, what to do...too many ideas and fabrics to choose...make a decision Brooke!

Making it Lovely

An absolutely gorgeous nursery. Love the mobile, love the black cot, love the wall colour

LOVE LOVE LOVE the pink and white chevron striped rug! and how adorable is her daughter? Nicole takes a photo of her in the same spot each month to track her growth- what a cute idea!

I love an organised studio...

I love that chair and cushion combo (pic is from her old studio)- I want something similar for the master suite in our new home...

Now that's how to organise your accessories!

Wat an adorable house front!

Making it lovely, a beautiful blog by Nicole Blach from Pink loves Brown, is one of my favourite blogs to scour for design ideas. I just love the decor of her home and the colour palette she uses. Simply lovely.

Pretty Party Ideas

Gee how times flies...my beautiful little ray of light is nearly 1 year old!

I wasn't going to have a party for her as we are so busy with moving packing etc but how can I miss her first birthday party?

We have decided to keep it quite simple as anything else would be too much of a nightmare at the moment. I am thinking pinks, turquoise and mauve's for her party and am using the Amy Butler fabric as a starting point. I am not sure whether to make a dress, smock or some sort of top with the Amy Butler fabric or a tutu with some sort of appliqued singlet layered over a long sleeve tee?

Of course I will have to make a few home made Martha pom poms (too easy and just Stu-h-ning!), and a simple round white mud cake with thick turquoise frosting and white polka dots to top it off. I will probably stick with the old white chinese cartons tied with ribbon and filled with goodies as party favours unless I can think find another container idea?

Hmm...what do you think? has anyone seen any other effective and not too time consuming party ideas?

image credits- oops, I forgot to save where I got the pics from!
I know picture 7 is from Martha Stewart and 8 is my own...

After reading that post back, it actually is sounding less simple and more like a lot of work...bugger

It's Tuesday and I can't wait...

...to head on down to beautiful Bangalow on Saturday for the Love Vintage Fair.

I do love a good fossick through other peoples unwanted goods and it has been a while since my last thirfting adventure down in Brunswick Heads so I am pretty damn excited about this one.

I am not really looking for anything in particular and since I am currently trying to sort through and downsize my hoard of thrifted/collected items I probably shouldn't be adding to the pile but who can resist and I would hate to think of what I could miss out on.

Besides, if I don't go, my sister (who I am going with) will still go and I can't let her snatch up all the goodies can I? he he he...

Weekend Wishes

Yeah! Blog all fixed now thanks to the lovely people at blogger help- what do you think of the new look? I am still playing around with everything. I think the header is too big but it is such a pain to resize it, oh I wish I was more computer savy...

We are going out to a party Saturday night- sans kids no less. Wow, a whole night of grown up interaction, can't wait! I dare say 1, 2 or maybe too many alcoholic beveredges may be comsumed.

Anyway, here's to a lovely weekend for all!

Frustration!

image via style guide

Excuse the visual profanity but it sums up how I have been feeling this past week.

As you may have noticed my blog looks very sad indeed- I am giving it a bit of a revamp and in the process have done god knows what so know my whole right hand sidebar has disappeared among other things- argh!!! Of course I am not the brightest spark when it comes to reading html so I cannot work out what the hell is wrong with my template and am waiting on help from blogger to shine the way!

Hopefully it will be all fixed and pretty again over the weekend.

Fingers crossed!

New house found!

It's official, we no longer have the strong possibility of being homeless come settlement day on the sale of our house-we're moving!
Here's the lowdown on the new house.

Saw it advertised online on the Sunday night (was only put on the market that weekend), looked at it Tuesday with my mum and sister, looked at it again on Wednesday with my other sister and step mum, made an offer Wednesday night, agreed to sale price Thursday- Too easy!

I guess when you have a feeling about a place you have to act on it right?
Does it really matter that my partner has only seen pictures of it online? Guess not, though it will certainly be a surprise when he sees it for the first time on settlement day! Hope he likes it...

HomeMADE Grandfinal Part 2

Here are Darren's rooms from the HomeMADE grand final last week.

Loved the wood paneling, butlers sink and tap wear in the bathroom.

The pink girls room looks a lot darker in the pics than on the show- it was a more of a watermelon hue and the white frames looked really effective. I am thinking they would have looked better filled with mismatched pictures, prints, maybe a mirror etc instead of filled with the pink chalkboard paint. This room actually looked great but these pics do not do it justice at all!

Weekend Wishes

ooh, I love Fridays...and I certainly know what I will be doing this afternoon.

There is a bottle of champagne with my name on it chilling in the fridge (my lovely other half splurged and surprised me with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot to celebrate our new house purchase!- more on that next week)

I am trying to hang out until at least 4pm so I don't feel like too much of an alcoholic...pant pant...

A fabulous weekend to all!
